The word Origami is Japanese and it means “folded from paper”. In Japanese it’s written in two words: ori – folded and kami – paper. The history of origami is tightly connected to paper invention. Paper was invented in the beginning of the first millenium in China. They made it from bamboo. Soon the secret of paper became known in Japan. The Japanese improved the technology of production and began to make paper that was better than the Chinese one. This paper could be used for folding pictures.
