Steven Meisel

Can a photographer, who made Madonna’s book Sex, be an ordinary person? It’s quite possible. That’s how Steven Meisel started as a regular illustrator, who didn’t even think of being a photographer, until once he was allowed to take some pictures of models from Elite model agency. That’s how he would have worked – being an illustrator on weekdays, and a hobby-photographer on weekends,  if his pictures weren’t seen by editors of Seventeen. And after that it all went smoothly. He’s been a constant author of Vogue covers for 15 years, guardian of countless models who became icons, and a welcomed author of many fashion magazines. Despite this, Steven hasn’t issued a book of his works and doesn’t even have a portfolio website. But he’s not sad about that at all.
