New World

New World
It seems that artists (and, of course, the masters of computer graphics) are made to broaden our usual reality, making their imagination to create new and unknown worlds in detail. A Spanish artist Borja Fresco Costal one day has decided to think of his own Nekro 13 inches world. It’s gloomy and scary. But you can’t get away from the story of this world. Without a hint about himself, he tells about a lonely stranger who wanders among the world of his dreams, just shadowing the wind, apart from the time and fears. In his space everything is as he likes it. And if you trust him, his new world will swallow you and you’ll find yourself in the perfect Universe, where you’ll see only the dreams you want to see.

Pepper

Pepper

From creating worlds to creating new people. No, we’re not going to talk about physical methods of creating people. We’ll talk about creativity. Meet Pepper. A few years ago she was created by an artist Stanley Lau, as an original personality, not copied from a real person. Stanley Lau says: “So don’ ask me for her phone number!”. Pepper is a means of research and use of different drawing styles in computer graphics. From regular black&white sketches to very-very realistic graphics. But she is beautiful.

Pixel Art (Pixel Graphics)

Pixel Art (Pixel Graphics)

Everything new is well forgotten old. Pixel-art is not completely forgotten old, but it’s not used as the only possible type of graphics. Pixel-art is in fashion now. You can join this movement, by learning some rules (or sooner drawing methods). And go to Paint! For example, Peter Stemmler and Nana Rausch decided to work in this kind of digital art. You just look at what they do. Here I’ve got only one series of pictures – From the Height of a Bird’s Flight. Are you impressed by such pixel graphics?

Indie

Indie

I’ll be a little unfair and title the post Indie, even though it has nothing to to with indie-rock. But no one will be sorry if they watch the works of a talented guy from St. Petersburg. He’s so young and has so much in him. I’m not able to show you the whole gallery of dim po, of course. But maybe it will motivate you to visit the author’s website.

Demons

Demons
20-year old girl Messa didn’t want to wait to be noticed, so she became her own producer, and her web-story about mystic demons became a kind of web-manga, and a very popular one. One day we’re going to see a DVD with a new anime about demon Sipiyu and his enemy Veyerus. Of course, Messa has lots of other charismatic characters in her story, and each of them is unique. Maybe it’s what makes them so great.

World Pictures

World Pictures
I’m always sincerely surprised how some people can get magical and incredible world pictures from their head. How can a person create a whole town or a country that outgrow time and cultures in the space of his fantasy? Those are new and unique worlds, they are not like anything you’ve ever saw in movies and cartoons. Although, by the way, the world pictures, created , often move to fantasy films. That’s one of Jermilex’s jobs. It’s everybody’s dream – to combine hobby and work.

Sweet Pictures

Sweet Pictures
An artist Fabo from Honduras (a country in Central Africa) paints incredibly sweet pictures. He mostly paints with a crayon on some weird paper. But in a couple of works he decided to correct those nice pictures with graphics. When you look at those animals, they seem so-so-so sweet. I think your friends will be delighted to get such picture from you. Not because of some holiday, but just because.

Samurai

A Japanese samurai with a brush in her hand – that is an artist from Japan, who doesn’t forget about the most beautiful traditions of her country. The artist’s name is Aya Kato. There are no samurays and beautiful geisha with Fujiyama on the background. And no manga. As each artist who wants to stand out, does, Aya has created her own style. And you’ll definitely like it. You should visit the author’s website (it’s in English, so you’ll easily find your way.

Caricatures

A definitely talented illustrator Chris Morris has decided to make caricatures of different celebrities. There are some sportsmen, actors, and rock-stars, and even some politicians. I won’t be surprised if you don’t recognize caricatures of some people. To do that, you’ll have to visit the author’s website or ask your friends to recognize the caricatures. Well, you definitely know this designer! “Kids, what’s his name?” Hint: look at the picture’s name :)

Houses

Painting lessons from Amy Casey. Practically floating castles – well, houses, to be exact. When there is world flood, Amy Casey’s innovative ideas in building will help us survive :) The pictures are rather new. I was not sorry for you and posted almost all the houses she painted this year. To be honest, the concept of the paintings reminds of Dali’s works.

Inspiration

Illustrations from Liz Clements. The pirates, the 80s, Tim Barton, polka, New York, cool cherry tea, Elvis, high hairdos, and a few not-so-regular things that gave inspiration to Liz’s creativity. Inspiration is undoubtedly important for the artist, but the most important thing are bright visual and emotional images. Whatever becomes your inspiration, try to direct it at good things :)

Play Cards

In my opinion, it’s an amazing project for artists. We have templates for play-cards. The artists have to think of an interesting internal picture for the card. If you are interested, you can visit the project’s website. I picked miscellaneous pictures just to have the whole deck. Full news has 54 pictures, but they are very light and add up to a total of 2 Mb.

Art Design

Nik Ainley is one of those people who doesn’t do design for money. But the interesting part is that he does earn money this way. His works over the last two years have frequented art-magazine covers, CDs, books and T-shirts. Nik prefers to gather ideas and inspiration from the subconscious, everyday life, science (which he does a little of) and silly texts on cereal boxes :) a regular person, he is.

Descriptive Art

Descriptive art unites all types of creativity. So it’s only natural to think that the work of a Chinese artist Jung Shan belong to descriptive art. It’s like modern painting using technical means – Photoshop and a touchpad, to be exact. On some works the people’s faces are simply perfect. And it seems to be so simple.

Fortress

An alienated fortress – this is the title of those paintings (I can’t call them pictures). The author is Marek Hlavaty from Slovakia. Main instruments that were used while drawing are a touchpad and Photoshop. Worlds, fortresses and wars of the future, together with a tender elf and little dwarves. There are lots of things one could learn from him, as well as be amazed, for those who wants to learn to create in Photoshop.

Graphic Design

Pure graphic Design from Chris Ede. Besides design Chris also does illustrations, which is close to design. Of course, the essence of each separate picture could be more clear, if we could read a short annotation to it. But Chris’s Ede graphic design is very contained by itself.

Dragon Pictures

Are you sick of the same lizards with wings on similar dragon pictures? An artist with and incredible sense of style Shadow Umbre often paints unusual “bird-dragons”. You’ll see it for yourself when you look at the whole series. I just can’t believe that it’s done in something like Photoshop. I’m sure that dragon admirers will be impressed by those pictures, and amateur artists will be inspired by them.

Illustration

MisseMai is the author of those nice black&white illustrations. Don’t be made about awful picture quality. I don’t think the designer would want his pictures to be spread around the world for free. By the way, on the author’s website you can get a silk pillow with any illustration you like (plus any color scheme, even if it’s black and pink), only for 80 Euros. Just think, a designer creation for only 80 Euros!

Photoshop Works

It’s hard to believe that all those pictures were made with Photoshop. To be exact, they have been created in Photoshop from the beginning to an end. Some of them are just like photos, the details are worked out so well. The author is Linda Bergkvist, an artist from Switzerland. The works are really impressive. The elves’ pictures are really beautiful.

Girls’ Drawing by Girls

One website had a very interesting event recently. It was about a small competition and a nice business. Some artists (well, the girls were the authors) participated in the contest for the right to place their drawing into the website’s calendar. Naturally, the calendar was then put out for sale. Selection was made by an independent jury. Let’s see.
