Photography gives Abrahamson appreciation forcounty
Stan Abrahamson has been shooting photos for quite a while.
"The first real pictures I took was when I was in graduate school when my daughter was born so that’s been 50-some years ago," he said. He and his wife, Jo Ann, moved to the Lowcountry 12 years ago and moved to Sun City six years ago where he is president of the Sun City Photography Club.
Abrahamson's eye for a picture earned him inclusion in the Beaufort County 2012 Land Preservation Calendar with two photos — the cover photograph and a photo featured inside for June.
"The cover shot was taken at Stony Preserve on Hilton Head right where you cross 278 not far from the business route and the Cross Island Expressway. The actual view is a little off to the side," Abrahamson said. "They have walking paths around there which is nice because many of the sites we visited are undeveloped at the moment."
His inside calendar photograph is at Coosaw Island.
